Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Your Property Mate ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses information when you visit yourpropertymate.uk (the "Site"). We are the data controller for personal data processed via the Site under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Your Property Mate is a UK-based sole trader providing educational mortgage and property tools. You can contact us at yourpropertymate@hotmail.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you provide: details you enter into our calculators (e.g. income, deposit, property price), and any information you send us by email or when booking a call.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and timestamps collected via our hosting provider and analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookies Policy.

3. How we use your information

  • To operate the Site and the calculators you choose to use.
  • To respond to enquiries and booked calls.
  • To monitor performance, prevent abuse and improve our content.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Lawful bases

We rely on (a) your consent for non-essential cookies and any marketing communications, (b) legitimate interests to keep the Site secure and improve our services, and (c) contract when you ask us to provide a service such as a booked call.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with trusted providers who help us run the Site, including:

  • Hosting and database providers (used to deliver the Site and store calculator submissions).
  • Email providers (Microsoft Outlook/Hotmail) when you contact us.
  • Booking platform (Stan.store) when you book a call.
  • Affiliate partners (such as checkmyfile) — only if you click an affiliate link.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes set out above, typically no longer than 24 months for enquiry data, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email yourpropertymate@hotmail.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, but no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
